Cake Vase

Contemporary folk art with icing on top.

Erika Emeren, born in Dalarna Sweden, searches for ways to combine techniques from folk art in contemporary design. Her Cake Vases are inspired by the traditional technique of making Swedish Spettekaka and decorated with influences from pop culture. Decoration becomes construction in Erika’s search for a new ceramic language. At the moment she lives and works in the Netherlands, making cake constructions.
